New patients and booking

Are you accepting new patients?

Yes. Our dentists are accepting new patients of all ages, from children to adults. You can book online or call (704) 875-7200. Read our new patient information to see what to expect.

How do I book an appointment?

Book online through our online scheduling or call (704) 875-7200. We are open Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

What happens at my first visit?

Your first visit can include an exam, any X-rays the dentist needs, and a talk about what we found and your options. You are welcome to ask questions at any point.

Do I fill out forms before my visit?

Yes, please. Print our patient forms, fill them out at home and bring them with you. That saves time when you arrive.

I get nervous at the dentist. Can you help?

Let us know when you book. You are welcome to ask questions at any point, and you can ask us about comfort options.

Insurance and payment

Do you take my dental insurance?

Call us at (704) 875-7200 for insurance details. Our insurance and payment page explains the basics.

How can I pay?

We accept cash, personal checks, money orders and most major credit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. Payment is due at the time of service.

Can I come in without dental insurance?

Yes. You are welcome here with or without insurance. You can pay with cash, a check, a money order or a major credit card.

What if I need more extensive treatment?

Call us and ask about payment options before treatment starts. You can read more on our insurance and payment page.

Your visit

What happens at a checkup?

A checkup can include a cleaning by one of our hygienists, an exam of your teeth and gums by the dentist, and X-rays if needed. Learn more about exams and cleanings.

Do I need X-rays at every visit?

Not always. The American Dental Association says dental X-rays should be taken only when your dentist believes they will give needed information, based on your age, oral health and risk. Dental X-rays use very low doses of radiation.

Can I book an early appointment?

Yes. Our office opens at 7:00 AM, Monday to Friday, which can help you fit a visit in before work or school. Book online or call (704) 875-7200.

Children and families

Do you see children?

Yes. We are a family practice and see patients of all ages, so children can visit the same office as their parents. Learn more about children's dental care.

When should my child first see a dentist?

The American Dental Association says a child's first visit should take place after the first tooth appears and no later than the first birthday. Call us to ask about booking your child's first visit.

Are you a pediatric dentist?

No. Our dentists are family dentists who see patients of all ages, including children. A pediatric dentist is a specialist who focuses on infants, children and teens.

What should I do if my child has a toothache?

Call the office at (704) 875-7200 and describe what is happening.

Dental emergencies

What should I do in a dental emergency?

Call us at (704) 875-7200 during office hours. We make every effort to see and care for you as soon as possible. See our emergency dentistry page for first-aid steps.

When should I go to the ER instead?

Go to the nearest emergency room or call 911 if you have trouble breathing or swallowing, swelling spreading under your tongue or into your neck, or bleeding you cannot control. These signs need emergency care first.

What do I do if a tooth is knocked out?

If an adult tooth (one of the permanent teeth) is knocked out, act within 30 minutes. Hold the tooth by the crown, not the root. If it is dirty, rinse it with water without scrubbing, and try to put it back in the socket. If it will not go back, keep it in milk or inside your cheek, then call us or get to the nearest dentist.

How can I ease a toothache until my visit?

Rinse your mouth with warm water and gently floss to remove trapped food. Do not put aspirin on the tooth or gums. Then call us at (704) 875-7200 to arrange a visit.

What if it happens on a weekend?

Our office is closed Saturday and Sunday. For breathing or swallowing trouble, spreading swelling or bleeding that will not stop, go to the ER or call 911. For a knocked-out adult tooth, get to the nearest dentist you can reach. Otherwise, call us when we open.
