Cosmetic Dentistry in Huntersville, NC

Whitening, veneers, Invisalign and tooth-colored repairs from your family dentists, planned around healthy teeth and gums.

Cosmetic dentistry changes how your teeth look: their color, shape, size or position. If you are looking for a cosmetic dentist in Huntersville, the general dentists at Kreeb Family Dentistry offer teeth whitening, porcelain veneers, Invisalign clear aligners, same-day crowns and tooth-colored fillings. Every plan starts with an exam, because decay and gum disease need care before cosmetic work.

What cosmetic treatments do we offer?

Teeth whitening. A peroxide gel lightens natural teeth, in one office visit or at home with custom trays. Whitening will not work on caps, veneers, crowns or fillings.

Porcelain veneers. A thin porcelain shell is bonded to the front of a tooth to change its color, shape or size. A small amount of enamel is removed, so the choice cannot be undone.

Invisalign. Clear, removable aligners move teeth a little at a time and can treat crowding, gaps and some bite problems. Dr. Bryan Kreeb is an Invisalign provider.

Same-day crowns. A crown covers the whole visible tooth. ADA MouthHealthy says a crown is a good way to cover teeth that are discolored or badly shaped. Our office makes crowns in house, so for qualifying patients a crown can be made and placed in one visit.

Tooth-colored fillings. Composite resin fillings match the natural color of your teeth. They repair decay or damage and can replace old silver fillings.

Who is a good candidate for cosmetic dentistry?

You may be a good candidate if your teeth and gums are healthy and you would like to change how your smile looks. Decay and gum disease are treated first (ADA MouthHealthy says this for veneers). If you clench or grind your teeth, tell your dentist: it can affect which options suit you.

What are the costs, risks and alternatives?

Your cost depends on the treatment, how many teeth are involved and any care needed first, such as treating decay. Ask about payment options on our insurance and payment page.

Each option has limits. Whitening does not lighten crowns or fillings, and the color can fade over time. Veneers cannot be undone and may need repair or replacement over time. Aligners need to be worn at least 22 hours a day to work. Doing nothing is also fine: cosmetic treatment is a choice.

Where can I see results, and what about missing teeth?

Visit our smile gallery to see cases from our office. Each patient is different, and results vary.

Replacing missing teeth is restorative care that also changes your smile. See dental implants, dental bridges and dentures and partials.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Still wondering about something? Call us and our team will help.

Does insurance cover cosmetic dentistry?

Treatments done only for looks may not be covered. ADA MouthHealthy says veneers, for example, may not be covered unless they are medically necessary. Crowns and fillings that repair damage can be different. Call us with your plan details for insurance information.

Should I whiten my teeth before getting veneers or crowns?

If you plan to whiten, whiten first. Crowns, veneers and fillings do not change color with whitening, so they are matched to your shade when they are made. Whitening first lets them match your new, lighter shade.

Can a general dentist do cosmetic dentistry?

Yes. Our general dentists provide whitening, veneers, same-day crowns and tooth-colored fillings, and Dr. Bryan Kreeb is an Invisalign provider. At our office, Dr. Bryan and Dr. Kelly Kreeb earned their DDS degrees in 1999, and Dr. Bryan Kreeb completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency.
